This front garden has large established trees that were making it hard to grow a decent lawn so we removed the lawn and installed a network of pathways and garden beds around the trees. The dogs can still enjoy the front garden and the owners don't have to mow and water a front lawn. We used pavers to edge the pathways that match existing paving and compacted Tuscan toppings as the path surface. Compost was incorporated into the garden beds when planting and tough, drought tolerant plants have been used. We constructed an Australian sandstone pier as a feature in a circular compacted area that now houses a sculpture.
